Somerset is seeking an organised, proactive School Camp Logistics Team Leader to lead the planning and delivery of logistical support for our Outdoor Programs.
This role is central to the smooth operation of our programs. Overseeing equipment, resources, facilities, and daily camp logistics whilst working closely with our Head of Program and Head of Operations.
Background or knowledge of the Outdoor Industry would be of benefit, however not essential. On the job training provided.
About Somerset
Somerset is family owned and has a proud history in the Outdoor Education space since 1981. Our core business is School Camp Programs and facilitating Duke of Ed adventurous journeys. We are located 20 minutes from Windsor or approx. 80 mins from Sydney CBD.
Operating 2 to 6 day journey-style programs from our basecamp, utilising the Colo River and surrounding bush.
We have over 20 fixed private campsites and over 20 activity areas that groups move between to complete their experience.
About the Role
The Logistics Team Leader is responsible for receiving program information, developing drive plans, and coordinating the day-to-day logistical support required for Somerset camps and programs. You will manage camp set-ups, daily servicing, pack-downs, and the ongoing maintenance of logistics systems, equipment, and storage areas.
Key Responsibilities
Program Preparation & Delivery
- Prepare and brief logistics staff for upcoming programs
- Coordinate camp preparation and campsite set-up
- Manage and perform daily campsite deliveries and servicing during programs
- Oversee and perform end-of-camp pack-up and cleaning
Ongoing Operations
- Maintain logistics storage areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Manage logistical resources, equipment, and facilities
- Continuously develop and improve logistics systems and practices
- Assist with other camp duties, including basic maintenance, as required
About You
Organised, hands-on, and comfortable working in a dynamic work environment. You can plan, adapt quickly, and take pride in running efficient, well-maintained operations that support high-quality camp experiences. Hold a current driver licence and have, or can obtain a WWCC.
What We Offer
- Salary: Circa $75,000–$80,000 inc super
- Leave: 4 weeks annual leave plus an additional 2 weeks TOIL
- Seasonal Shutdown: June / July
