About this Opportunity
The School is seeking Casual HCC Assistants who are engaged and passionate to work casually across our Year 9 Moonbah Program (Terms 1-2) and our Year 10 Winter School Program (Term 3) which are both based at the School's High Country Campus (Jindabyne, NSW). Please note: Term 4 will be considered non-teaching time with excellent flexibility to accommodate extended travel over the summer break. This role is underpinned by Redlands' commitment to the development of each student's personal growth. Students living in community and on site at Redlands' High Country Campus outside of Jindabyne, connect, learn, and lead to foster deep understanding and critical thinking via a rich and varied interdisciplinary curriculum. Through these bespoke residential programs, students deepen independence, responsibility and are empowered to become the authors of their future selves.
About You

We’re seeking casuals with experience in residential supervision and a strong commitment to student health and well-being. The successful candidates will have the unique and fulfilling opportunity to help students acclimatise to residential life, offering comfort and support as they build independence, create a nurturing environment that prioritises safety and well-being, and if you love nature, you’ll thrive in our scenic, close-knit setting.
We are looking for casuals who have the following competencies and experience:
- Experience: Previous experience in a similar boarding supervisor or residential care role is highly desirable.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and mentor students.
- Problem-Solving: Proficient in conflict resolution and crisis management, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build positive relationships with students from diverse backgrounds and foster a supportive community.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the residential program.
- First Aid Certification: Current Wilderness First Aid (or willingness to obtain/update).
- Child Safeguarding: Understanding of and commitment to child safeguarding practices.
- Education: A relevant qualification in outdoor education, youth work, or a related field is preferred.
