Red Earth

Immersion Leaders in 2025

WE ARE LOOKING FOR PROFESSIONAL, ENTHUSIASTIC IMMERSION LEADERS TO WORK IN ALL OUR REGIONS DURING 2025.

If looking to challenge your abilities as a group leader in an exciting multi-day setting or are a career outdoor educator seeking work that aligns with your values, Red Earth wants to hear from you!

What is Red Earth?

Red Earth is a social enterprise dedicated to connecting young people with remote Indigenous Australia through cultural immersion programs in Cape York, Central Australia, Lake Mungo, Arnhem Land and the Top End, and more.

Groups spend 5-10 days camping on Country, participating in cultural activities, contributing to a project on a homeland, visiting sacred sites and directly connecting with the Traditional Owners of the land, learning about culture and their personal stories.

Our deeply impactful experiences are achieved by establishing strong, enduring partnerships with Traditional Owners and similarly robust relationships with schools, colleges, and institutions.

Red Earth also delivers immersion experiences for adult and corporate groups.

Red Earth’s expertise lies in bringing these two parties together, to facilitate an authentic shared experience that furthers our collective and constant drive towards reconciliation.

What will you be doing as a Leader with Red Earth?

The Red Earth vision sees young people from cities deeply connecting with Traditional Owners in remote communities, on their terms, on their land. We know that careful planning and skilled facilitation are needed to make such magical moments happen, and that is where our Red Earth Leaders come in.

As a Leader, you will be the bridge between the client group and the Traditional Owners, fostering connection and moments of learning, whilst ensuring everything behind-the-scenes is looked after. This includes:

  • Liaising with Traditional Owners to organise activities during the immersion.
  • Ensuring all activity equipment is present, so the sessions run seamlessly.
  • Providing first aid and emergency support for the group.
  • Overseeing group logistics, such as catering and transportation.
  • Organising and managing camping equipment.
  • Collaborating with teachers to deliver an immersion suited to the client group.
  • Facilitating reflective learning within the group.
  • Upholding Red Earth policies, managing risk and communications.

You will work with the broader Red Earth team – from our field support crew to the 24-hour On Call team - to facilitate an overall safe, well-organised, meaningful, and authentic experience.

Put simply: our staff are the front line in delivering the vision of Red Earth. Without great staff, we cannot do what we do.
