Salary Range
Pay rates for qualified Instructors range from $32 to $50 per hour, day rates range from $240- $445 plus additional allowances
The Wilderness Group has been providing schools and specialist groups and the general public with high-quality outdoor programs and nature-based tourism experiences for 30 years. It is the largest provider of school camps, excursions and outdoor pursuits in South Australia, and one of the largest nationally.
About the role
We are seeking passionate and suitable candidates to join our busy team to facilitate outdoor learning experiences and adventure-based recreation activities.
We welcome people that have worked as outdoor facilitators with other organisations or schools, or have relevant outdoor qualifications. Opportunities to work weekdays and weekends are available.
Requirements
Prior to employment you will need to provide, or be willing to attain;
- Senior First Aid Certificate with a preference for Remote First Aid or Wilderness First Aid
- Australian or New Zealand residency or a current working visa with clear travel plans.
- Child Safe Environments, Responding to Abuse and Neglect; training can be provided
- Working with Children Clearance, South Australia (If applying from interstate)
Desirable Qualifications
The Wilderness Group provides a vast range of experiences to people of all ages. Any or multiple of the below qualifications would be advantageous. We support staff to gain qualifications whist being employed.
- Bushwalking - easy untracked to remote.
- Flatwater Kayak/Canoe Guide or Instructor
- Small Dinghy Sailing Instructor - Yachting Australia
- Surf Coach Level 1 - Surfing Australia or ASI
- High Ropes Facilitator - PACI preferred, training can be provided
- Natural Surface Climbing and Abseiling - Guide PACI preferred
- Instruct Snorkelling Skills - PADI or SSI.
- LR (bus) License preferred or Drivers licence
- Surf Rescue Certificate or Bronze Medallion
All Australian National Training Package qualifications will be accepted. International qualifications will be considered. Opportunities for upskilling are provided as well as on the job training.
