For the first time in almost a decade a management position is available to manage and oversee this business based in Kalaru on the Sapphire Coast of NSW.

We aim to be the partner of choice for schools and organisations, working collaboratively with schools to design, plan and deliver exceptional outdoor education programs and adventure activities.   

We are seeking an exceptional and experienced outdoor manager to lead and manage our passionate, dedicated, and skilled team. 

About the Opportunity

The Coastlife Adventures Manager position is both strategic and operational. The successful candidate  will directly market, liaise with and oversee our clients to ensure their upcoming programs meet their needs and are extremely successful. Leading all aspects of business, this Manager will report directly to the Bindaree Managing Director and the Executive Management Team.

This position has a diverse range of responsibilities including: 

  • Delivering outstanding customer service to ensure client satisfaction
  • Oversee all client marketing
  • Being the first point of contact for client enquires
  • Making camp bookings and coordinating client programs
  • Attending and facilitating client meetings and presentations
  • Maintaining all client documentation, records and finances
  • Manage the business and achieve strategic business goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations Manage the business and achieve strategic business goals
  • Maintain strong positive relationships with business suppliers
  • Manage business finances within a budget 
  • Manage a team of program managers, caters and resource staff to deliver safe and engaging programs
  • Oversee staff training and mentoring
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace
  • Establish and maintain an environmentally sustainable workplace
  • Build business leads through assisting with marketing and advertising campaigns. 
  • Undertake field-roles on a range of allocated programs to achieve programming outcomes
  • Be on call during camp programs (roster)
What you'll need to succeed

This position will require a commitment to live and work in or around the Tathra region.

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have: 

  • A passion for outdoor education and providing outstanding customer experiences
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to create strong relationships with staff and clients
  • A strong ability to communicate with and lead a team of professional outdoor staff
  • Proven leadership/management experience, including the ability to multi task and look bigger picture to achieve business goals
  • Have strong financial, compliance, administrative and presentation skills
  • Able to make sound judgements, coordinate activities, maintain thorough attention to detail while working under pressure
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to prioritise work, work autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in managing field-based programs and teams
  • A proven record in activity and program safety, remote area first aid, emergency responses and risk management
  • Program planning and management experience
  • A solutions-based mindset
  • Demonstrated experience in business management in a campsite or similar environment
Applicants must hold a minimum of or be prepared to acquire:
  • National Police Check
  • Valid Working with Children Check
  • First Aid Qualification including CPR
  • Manual Driver’s Licence (essential) 
  • Minimum Cert IV in Outdoor Recreation or equivalent years of industry experience
