Journey Development Programs & Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp

Inspiring Group Facilitators - Casual / Freelance / Contract (Core Team) positions available

Journey Development Programs (JDP) is growing and is looking for new crew to join us and start our unique crew development program.

JDP crew really inspire and develop young people and organisations like you may not have experienced before. All crew have a focus on developing themselves, and on being an active and contributing part of a positive and effective workplace culture. It’s not your average workplace.

We have a reputation for innovative programs that you will not find elsewhere and our growing customer base is varied and second to none. Our team is experienced and inexperienced – of course – we choose crew for their attitude and potential wih the long term in mind, not their logbook, although we do respect a hefty log too.

We have a well matured development pathway that can begin with simple hardtop camp facilitation at our home base Kinglake Forest Adventures Camp, moving onto complex facilitation there, then moving onto outdoor rec journeys, multi-week cultural and contribution travel journeys and ultimately working with blue chip management teams and elite sports teams. It’s a pretty cool pathway with outcomes outcomes outcomes always being the reason we do our work. End of program debreifs are often the highlight – and so they should be, that’s where we celebrate Good work (with a capital G).

Our team generally consists of one third Cert IV Outdoor Reccers, one third recent teacher grads with OEd or SportRec and one third just great natural group facilitators. We really like this third group because they are naturals and just don’t know it yet. The common thread in our crew is an unshakeable focus on outcomes, a desire to continually learn and an intention to make themselves and all others in the whole team the best they can be. There are a limited number of core team contracted positions for term 3 & 4 that could continue into the 2022 season and there will be room for freelancers too so don’t be shy. This current recruiting window is tight and new crew will begin their development pahway on a multi-day in-house program from Sept 28th.

Our base in Kinglake operates from 800 hectares of parks and forests just 60 minutes North of Melbourne CBD. Onsite shared accommodation and all meals are included for hardtop program crew. Offsite programs run from public lands around the country including The Prom, The Grampians, The Whitsundays, Kinglake Ranges, Tassie and a couple of new ones in the pipeline. If you fit the profile or know someone that might fit ‘The Natural’ category, and would like to be a part of the family, please do enquire.
