(Fixed Term 12-Month Contract)

Eildon, Victoria, Moss Vale, NSW | Commencing 18 January 2027

Belgravia Outdoor Education is seeking experienced and capable Outdoor Educators to join our Victorian team on a fixed-term 12-month contract from 18 January 2027 to 24 December 2027, with the possibility of extension beyond the initial contract period.

If you're the type of educator who can confidently step into multi-day journey programs, lead groups in remote environments, and create life-changing experiences for students, we'd love to hear from you.

What's on Offer?
  • 0.8 FTE (30.4 hours per week)
  • Annual 0.8 Salary: $45,274.11(Based on 28.64 AUD)
  • $1,741.31 per fortnight (before tax, excluding allowances and super)
  • 7 weeks annual leave (pro rata)
  • Superannuation paid in addition to salary
  • $50 overnight supervision allowance on a program day
  • $50 field day allowance for each day supervising students in the field on a program day
  • Rostered Time Off (RTO) - (All hours worked over 30.4 hours per week accrue as RTO, Take time back when operationally suitable)
  • Overtime (Paid for hours worked over 12 hours in a single day)
  • 4 weeks accommodation provided on commencement (Giving you time to settle into the region and decide where you'd like to live)

What Could You Earn?

Your guaranteed salary is $1,741.31 per fortnight before tax, regardless of whether you're working, taking annual leave, or using rostered time off.

For example:

If you work two 5-day journey programs within a fortnight, with 8 field days and 8 overnight supervision allowances, you could earn:

  • Base fortnightly pay: $1,741.31
  • 8 Overnight Allowances: $400
  • 8 Field Day Allowances: $400

Total = $2,541.31 per fortnight before tax, plus:

  • Any accrued RTO for hours worked over 30.4 hours per week
  • Any overtime payable for days exceeding 12 hours
The Role

This role is primarily focused on our Journey Programs, delivering outdoor education experiences across Victoria and NSW and occasionally interstate.

You could find yourself:

  • Leading students through remote environments
  • Camping for 3 to 5 days at a time
  • Sleeping in tents
  • Facilitating personal growth and resilience programs
  • Delivering canoeing, bushwalking, camping, and expedition experiences
  • Supporting programs across Victoria and occasionally interstate when required

While all programs are coordinated from Eildon, Victoria, or Moss vale, NSW you may live anywhere in Victoria or NSW provided you can reliably travel to Eildon or Moss Vale at the commencement of programs.

What You'll Need

To be considered, you must hold:

  • Current Wilderness First Aid Qualification
  • Current Working With Children Check
  • Current unrestricted Driver Licence (ideal)
  • Experience leading outdoor education journey-based programs
  • A strong commitment to risk management, student wellbeing and child safety

Salary Increase

The salary above reflects the commencement rate. A pay increase will apply from the first pay period in July 2027 in accordance with our employment arrangements.
